Grammy Fashion

12 Feb

I have to confess, I didn’t actually watch the Grammys. They were on a tape delay on the West Coast, so I had already learned via Twitter who won everything. Also, I haven’t even heard of most of the nominees. So there’s that.

But, I did watch the red carpet! Because let’s face it, that’s the best part of any awards show. And so, because I know you’ve all been on the edge of your seats waiting, here’s my take on this year’s fashion.

Best Dressed

Beyonce

Not the best picture, but I love everything about this look and these clean lines. She looks sexy, sleek, elegant, and pulled together.

Kaley Cuoco

Okay, so I’m digging pants this year. It’s no secret that I love Kaley (Hi! Kiss Norman’s giant head for me!), but I don’t always love her red carpet looks. This one I love.

Carrie Underwood

Dude, let’s be real, it’s kind of impossible to not look like a million bucks when you’ve got $31 million in diamonds around your neck. ‘Nuff said.

Miranda Lambert

Miranda is another one who’s red carpet looks I don’t always love, but she knocked it out of the park with this one. It’s perfection from head to toe – hair, makeup, jewelry, dress, she really nailed it.

Worst Dressed

Adele

First I want to give credit where credit is due – her makeup was flawless. But it seems that she only skimmed that dress code memo. Where it said “cover up to avoid a nipple slip” she read “wear a slip cover”. She’s got all these great curves, and we couldn’t see any of them because she was dressed like a tacky easy chair.

Rhianna

I don’t even know what to say about this. Rhianna’s gorgeous, but this dress didn’t do her any favors. But then again, I’m a big fan of wearing a bra. I know they’re not the most comfortable things ever created, but they lift and separate! And hide the fact that it was chilly on the red carpet!

Jennifer Lopez

Jenny, we need to have a talk. First of all, you will never beat the Versace from 2000, so don’t try. Second, the leg thing is Angelina’s. Not only has she already done it, but didn’t you see how she was mocked for it? Why would you willingly bring that upon yourself?

What do you think? What were your hits and misses?

[...] Feb Admittedly, this recap wasn’t as much fun to write as my Grammy’s fashion picks, because there just weren’t that many gowns that blew me away. They were pretty much all [...]
