You Might Be An Adult If…

10 Jan

As I stare down the barrel of my late twenties, I think I’m finally qualified to call myself an adult. And I’d like to share some things I’ve learned about being an adult.

You Might Be An Adult If…

You realize that you’re turning into your mother, but instead of being terrified, you’re kind of proud.

You think a vacuum cleaner is an awesome gift.

You’d rather put money in your savings account than blow it all on great shoes.

You get antsy about dishes left in the sink.

Your parents’ friends start telling dirty jokes in front of you.

You start using night cream and worrying about the right time to start eye cream.

You react to friends’ pregnancies with joy and excitement instead of panic and terror.

You have to pay your own car insurance.

You discover the joy of staying in with a good book on a Saturday night.

You realize that Express is too young for you.

I would think a vacuum cleaner was an awesome gift, but only if it were an Oreck. I love those things. They are so light and do a great job. I am more than happy to help my mom with the vacuuming when I visit my parents’ now that she has an Oreck. When she had her big hunk of a vacuum cleaner, I hated lugging that thing around the floor, but with the Oreck I can get the job done in have the time. Well, that is also due to them having hardwoods in the living room now, but whatever. ;)
