Handmade Coastal Christmas – Tree

4 Dec

I could not be more in love with my Christmas tree this year! I started from scratch with a new theme and all new ornaments, and I’m really happy with the way it turned out.

My grand total for my new tree came in at $33.50, so I busted the $20 limit at Meg’s Crafty Christmas Tree Challenge, but I still think it looks great for such a small chunk of change!

I made most of the ornaments myself, and used things I already had around the house. That stunning starfish garland would have really busted my budget, but that was a wonderful early Christmas gift from my mother. :)

I did spring for a new tree topper, at $12 it was the biggest chunk of my budget but I love the impact it makes. Plus, I plan on keeping it out year-round. I’m also quite smitten with my little felt whale.

And this is the ornament that started it all – a beautiful hand-blown ball that my cousin got me for Christmas a few years ago.

I love my Coastal Christmas tree, and it’s going to be hard to take it down after the holidays!

So cute! I love the beach/ocean theme. The tulle looks nice going around it.

Darling!!! I love your ideas – they make me wish I lived in a beach town!

I have purchased a seashell and starfish garland for my granddaughter’s upcoming birthday party from Oriental Trading. It is really impressive for the price. Check it out! I think it’d look great hanging on your windows! We plan to use it on my grandaughter’s window after the party.
