Mini-Vacation at the Eastern Shore
8 Sep
Over Labor Day weekend Teddy and I went to the Eastern Shore of Maryland with my cousin and we had a BLAST! It was such a nice, relaxing vacation. The Eastern Shore has tons of adorable little towns, all with a very coastal/nautical flair. We had a great time walking around, exploring the shops, checking out museums, and, of course, eating!

Our first stop was an Amish market, where we indulged in some AMAZING pastries. Oh man, I’m still dreaming about that peanut butter pie!

While we were walking around Easton we found this hilarious sign. Turns out “No Fish” is actually a beauty salon. Yeah, that’s exactly what I would have guessed too.

There are no dogs allowed on the grounds of the Talbot County Courthouse, but Teddy and I slipped in just long enough for a quick picture. Teddy Bear don’t care.

We stopped to eat lunch at Foxy’s in St. Michael’s, this great place that sits right on the Bay. They even have their very own dog! He was kind enough to sample Teddy’s water and make sure it was fit for drinking.

There was this hilarious cut-out outside of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, and Teddy and I just had to pose for a picture. Looking back, I guess it would have been funnier if I was the crab and Teddy was the fisherman. Oh well, next time.

The museum was actually really cool – they had a huge area with a lot of artifacts and all kinds of cool stuff from around the Bay. This is a 19th Century boat that they were working on restoring.

Then, as we were driving out of St. Michael’s, guess what I saw on the side of the road? That’s right, Beyonce!! I was so excited, I made my cousin stop to take a picture with me. She thinks I’m a little nuts, but that’s nothing new.

This is pretty much what Teddy looked like at the end of every day. Little Bear was tired. It was adorable.
Of course, we did more than just this – but the super random pictures are much more fun to share. We also stopped at a random Merchant Marine Memorial on the side of the road (our grandfather was a Merchant Marine during World War II), we went to the Crab Derby in Crisfield, sat on the beach on Deal Island, went to the Nautical Festival in Oxford, took a walking tour of historic Easton, went to Easton’s First Friday Gallery Walk, and stopped in Annapolis on our way home to go to an art walk and have lunch at a great Mexican place.
Stay tuned – I’ve got some really cute pictures of Teddy at the beach coming up later this week!

Ha! Love it.
Thanks!
